Steve Briscoe is a graduate of the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology as a Mechanical Engineering Technologist and is currently the Sales Director for Pattons, Inc in Charlotte, NC. Steve has been in the industrial compressed air field for 25 years and has worked with all sizes of industrial manufacturing facilities in free field system design, retrofit design, energy improvement projects, remote monitoring, compressed air system controls and has performed compressed air energy audits for facilities across the US for the past 20 years.
Steve has been involved with the Compressed Air Challenge, a non-profit compressed air education group since 2006, and has been serving as President since May of 2015. He has helped thousands of manufacturing facilities save hundreds of thousands of dollars in energy consumption and increased reliability and quality of their compressed air systems to ensure efficiency in manufacturing operations.
Compressed Air Challenge Instructor – Fundamentals of Compressed Air Systems (2019)
CAGI Compressed Air Systems Professional (2018)
Qualified US Department of Energy AIRMaster+ Specialist (2003)
Steve Briscoe’s compressed air workshop is designed to provide an awareness level learning on the costs associated with the production of compressed air and to provide best practices for improving reliability and energy efficiency of the complete compressed air system. Subjects covered include description of the system components including compressor types and differences, dehydration and filtration technologies and the costs associated to them, compressor and system controls, multiple unit sequencing and control strategies, continuous measurement, remote monitoring, piping design, end use applications and a review of inappropriate uses. We will also touch on what should be included in compressed air audits; supply side, demand side and leak detection. Workshop attendees will leave with a basic knowledge on calculating the costs of compressed air and key areas to identify in the reduction of those costs.
Since 1945, Pattons has supplied industries across the Southeast with reliable, efficient compressed air solutions. Compressed air is vital for all industries. Small air compressors support operations such as auto repair facilities and large compressors support operations such as drug and food manufacturing. Compressed air is analogous to electricity in that it is required for virtually all industries. The 3M Company, HAECO, Continental Tire, and Tyson Food are a few organizations that rely on air to operate.
