Prepare your air compressor system for the summer with these 5 tips!

With the season changes, it’s important to perform some basic maintenance to avoid any issues associated with the temperatures rising. Here are five tips to help you get ready for the summer:

SERVICE YOUR DRYER

Your dryer will be working harder this season as it takes in additional moisture due to the increase in humidity. Make sure to schedule your dryer service and have it routinely checked.

ADJUST TIMER DRAIN

Expect to drain more water as temperatures increase. Adjust your timer so that the drains exhaust water as needed. Consider an automatic, zero los drain such as ELGi’s EZL Drain Valves so that drains only open when water is present.

CLEAN YOUR COOLER

A dirty or clogged cooler due to pollen or dirt can cause your compressor and dryer to shut down, so make sure to clean your cooler on a regular basis.

CHANGE YOUR OIL

With the summer heat and humidity, oil life may be affected. Remember to check and change oil to maintain a healthy compressor.

CHECK FANS AND LOUVERS

It’s important to make sure your compressor room is properly ventilated during the hotter months. As the temperature increases, check to make sure your fans and louvers are operating properly to keep your compressor from overheating.
