Elgi - Nasscom partnership to focus on skilling 1,000 white-collar employees for business strategy
Dr Jairam Varadaraj, Managing Director, Elgi Equipments, said, “Once we are clear about where we want to deploy a digital platform in our business strategy, people working in those specific functions that will eventually impact the strategy will be looked at. The company will see what other skills are required and will initiate the upskilling and reskilling initiatives accordingly.”
To equip all its employees, mainly white-collar ones, with digital skills, Elgi Equipments has announced a partnership with Nasscom’s FutureSkills programme.
FutureSkills Prime, a skilling programme focused on emerging technologies, is powered by a partnership between the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, the Government of India, Nasscom, and the IT industry. Over 1,000 Elgi employees are scheduled to undertake this programme.
Explaining the idea behind this, Dr Jairam Varadaraj, Managing Director, Elgi Equipments, said around 20 years ago, there was a high-decibel conversation in the corporate world around Enterprise Resource Planning. Many companies implemented it and benefited from the ERP revolution.
