PSGR Krishnammal Women’s College and ELGi announce academic-industry collaboration to drive value research and innovation

Inaugurated the Digital Innovation Centre as part of ELGi’s plans to create pan-India Digital Innovation DOJOs (immersive learning centers) with the academia

Focus on establishing a robust education-to-work pipeline for young women to enhance STEM skills in line with business expectations.

Coimbatore, India, September 21, 2022: PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, the Coimbatore-based autonomous arts and science college, recognized as a 'College of Excellence' by the University Grants Commission, and Elgi Equipments, one of the world's leading air-compressor manufacturers, came together today, to inaugurate the ‘GRG-ELGi Digital Innovation Dojo' at the college's GRG Campus in Peelamedu. This is the first Digital Innovation Dojo, in line with ELGi’s digital transformation strategy based on the premise of 'Experiment, Start Small & Scale Fast'. The partnership aims to provide a plethora of opportunities for women to acquire specialized technical skills while defining solutions and exploring areas of development, ultimately resulting in valuable industry experience for the participant students, together with workable solutions and fresh perspectives for ELGi.

The 'GRG-ELGi Digital Innovation Dojo' equipped with the necessary computational systems and software from ELGi, will engage approximately 20 interns at any given time. The Dojo or learning center will embrace extensive and effective use of the agile scrum framework for project management and technology advancements. Aside, all interns will have the opportunity to work on technology platforms spanning Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Virtual/Augmented reality, along with Robotic Process Automation (RPA). The students will also be able to interact, learn, work, and be mentored by ELGi’s industry leaders across the globe, empowering them to explore various employment opportunities in the digital transformation arena.
