WHY ELGI AIRMATE DOWNSTREAM FILTERS?
Best-in-class ten-year warranty on the housing
The common problem with most housing is corrosion. While this corrosion doesn't affect the filter's performance itself, it adds particles of its corroded body (aluminum or iron) to the compressed air, thus making it unfit for sensitive applications. With the ELGi AF Series filters, customers can have a reliable, pure operation for the entire life of the filter.
Automatic internal float drain
Automatically removes maximum condensate from the system with minimal air loss and saves the element from being soaked, avoiding moisture or water carryover to the downstream equipment.
Zero loss drain option
Only the condensate is dehydrated with an external level sensing drain. There is no air loss, resulting in energy savings. Both the mechanical and the electronic drain options are available with ELGi's AF Series filters.
Differential pressure gauge & filter status indicator
Three colored range on the indicator helps identify the actual condition of the filter element and plan the maintenance activity efficiently.
Wall mounting kit & clamp option
Wall mounting kits are available to easily connect the filters to the wall. The clamp provided can easily connect two filters without any pipes.
High Safety Norms and certification
Filters are CE, AS, CRN, ASME certified and manufactured under ISO quality standards and IUTA verification for high performance.
In-built service indicator
Helps alert the user for on-time maintenance and service.
Compact and space-saving
Compact and space-saving design thanks to the dual filter housing.
Moisture, particle contaminants, microorganisms, and gases are the most variable component of the atmospheric air. When this air gets compressed, the concentration of these elements increases by 6 to 10 times; that’s why other contaminants like oil and metal traces get added during the compression process. Removing these contaminants from the compressed air before being used for any application is an essential task.
According to the International Standard, ISO 8573-1:2010, compressed air contaminants like particles, water, and oil are segregated as per purity classes. In this standard, microorganisms and other gases are not included. As a result, the air purity is indicated as [P, W, O] and is ordered as per the number of particles, water, and oil.
ELGi’s AF Series downstream filters are used in condensed air pipes to stop liquids and solid contaminants from entering air compressors. They stop these contaminants from entering the equipment and causing damage. Our filtration grade removes the wet particle from 1 micron to 0.01 micron, aerosols from 0.1 mg/m3 to 0.003 mg/m3 and provides air quality from (2:-:2) to (1:-:1) based on ISO 8573-1:2010 standards. The working principle for ELGi’s Downstream Air Compressor Filter is explained below :
- Contaminated compressed air enters the filter through an inlet port.
- Contaminated air is filtered while coming from the inside to the outside of the filter element.
- Large droplets of condensate are collected by the element and drained gravitationally.
- Collected moisture/water at the bottom of the filter bowl is drained out of the filter with the help of an internal float drain.
- Filtered cleaner air is sent out of the filter through an outlet port.
- For the carbon filter, the flow of air is opposite i.e., the inlet and the outlet port would change. The contaminated air flows from the outside to the inside of the filter element, and the activated carbon absorbs the oil vapour and odor before passing the air through it.
