WHY ELGi AIRMATE FILTERS?
Best-in-class ten-year warranty for housing
The common problem with most housing is corrosion. While this corrosion doesn't affect the filter's performance, it adds particles of the corroded body (aluminium or iron) to the air, thus making it unfit for sensitive applications. With this warranty, customers can have reliable operations for the entire filter’s life.
Compact and space-saving
High-capacity air compressor air filters with dual filter housing reduce space consumption and are compact compared to fabricated filters.
Differential pressure gauge & filter status indicator
The indicator's three coloured ranges help identify the filter element's actual condition and efficiently plan the maintenance activity.
In-built service indicator
Helps in alerting the user for on-time maintenance and service.
Automatic internal float drain
It automatically removes maximum condensate from the system with minimal air loss, saving the element from being soaked and avoiding moisture/water carryover to the downstream equipment.
High Safety Norms and Certification
Filters are CE, AS, CRN, and ASME certified and made under ISO quality standards and IUTA verification for high performance.
Zero-loss drain option
With an external level-sensing drain, only the condensate is dehydrated. There is no air loss (energy-saving). ELGi's downstream filters offer both mechanical and electronic drain options.
Wall mounting kit & clamp option
Wall mounting kits are available to connect the filters to the wall easily. The clamp provided attaches two filters easily without any pipes.
HOW DOES A DOWNSTREAM AIR COMPRESSOR FILTER WORK?
Moisture, particle contaminants, microorganisms, and gases are the most variable components of atmospheric air. When this air is compressed, the concentration of these elements increases by 6 to 10 times; that’s why other contaminants like oil and metal traces are added during the compression process. Removing these contaminants from the compressed air before it is used for any application is an essential task.
According to the ISO 8573-1:2010 standard, compressed air contaminants like particles, water, and oil are segregated as per purity classes. In this standard, microorganisms and other gases are not included. As a result, the air purity is indicated as [P, W, O] and is ordered as per the number of particles, water, and oil.
ELGi’s AF downstream filters are used in compressed airlines to prevent liquids and solid contaminants from entering air compressors. They also prevent these contaminants from damaging equipment. Our filtration grade removes wet particles from 1 micron to 0.01 micron and aerosols from 0.1 mg/m3 to 0.003 mg/m3 and provides air quality from (2:-:2) to (1:-:1) based on ISO 8573-1:2010 standards.
The working principle of ELGi’s Downstream Air Compressor Filter is explained below:
Contaminated compressed air enters the filter through the inlet port. Contaminated air is filtered while coming from inside to the outside of the filter element. Large droplets of condensate are collected by the element and drained gravitationally. The collected moisture/water at the bottom of the filter bowl is drained out of the filter with the help of an internal float drain. The filtered air is sent out of the filter through the outlet port. For the carbon filter, the flow of air is opposite to the inlet, and outlet port would change. The contaminated air flows from outside to inside of the filter element. The activated carbon absorbs the oil vapour and odour before passing the air through it.
